The launch date of the Xiaomi 17 Ultra has surfaced via the Huayi Central website. Additionally, tipster Smart Pikachu revealed on the microblogging platform Weibo that the Xiaomi 17 Ultra will be unveiled in China on December 26. As per leaks, pre-orders for the phone may begin in China from next week, and the official price will be announced 10 days after bookings start.
Leaks suggest that pre-orders for the Xiaomi 17 Ultra will go live in China from December 15 and will continue until December 25. After the 10-day booking window, the smartphone will be officially launched on December 26. The device is expected to be offered in 12GB and 16GB RAM variants in China. The starting price is rumored to be around ₹85,000 (Indian currency equivalent).
For reference, the Xiaomi 15 Ultra 5G was launched in China at 6,499 yuan for the 12GB RAM + 256GB storage variant, which is approximately ₹82,699. Meanwhile, the 16GB RAM + 1TB storage variant was priced at 7,799 yuan, roughly ₹99,199. This indicates that the top variant of the upcoming Xiaomi 17 Ultra could cost over ₹1 lakh.
In terms of performance, the Xiaomi 17 Ultra is expected to feature Qualcomm’s most powerful chipset, the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5. The same chipset is already used in the Xiaomi 17 Pro and 17 Pro Max models. Built on a 3nm architecture, this octa-core processor can run at clock speeds ranging from 3.63GHz to 4.6GHz. For AI performance, it includes a Hexagon NPU, and for enhanced connectivity, it features the X85 5G Modem RF System.
According to leaks, the Xiaomi 17 Ultra 5G will come with a triple rear camera setup. This may include a 1-inch 50MP OmniVision OV50X primary sensor, along with a 200MP periscope telephoto lens and a 50MP ultra-wide-angle lens. For selfies and video calls, a 50MP front camera is also expected.
For power backup, the Xiaomi 17 Ultra 5G is rumored to pack a massive 7,000mAh battery. The device may support 120W wired fast charging and 50W wireless charging. To recall, the Xiaomi 17 launched with a 7,000mAh battery, the Xiaomi 17 Pro with a 6,300mAh battery, and the Xiaomi 17 Pro Max with a 7,500mAh battery in China.
