Xiaomi Expands “Hyper Island” Feature Access to All Devices
Xiaomi recently expanded access to its “Hyper Island” feature, which was previously reserved for flagship models only, by removing internal restrictions in the latest HyperOS 3 beta release. This update now allows Hyper Island to work on all Xiaomi, Redmi, and POCO devices, including tablets and low-end smartphones.
What is Hyper Island?
Inspired by Apple’s Dynamic Island, Hyper Island is Xiaomi’s integrated notification and background activity management interface located at the top of the display. Initially limited to high-end devices, it now adapts even to low-end models with optimized animations and resource handling.
Why This Matters
This move reflects Xiaomi’s broader strategy to bring flagship-like experiences to all users. It highlights the company’s commitment to UI consistency, ecosystem growth, and better longevity across its entire product lineup.
Limitations
However, Xiaomi notes that on some devices, Dynamic Island-style animations might appear static due to hardware limitations — meaning visual transitions will be simplified, but functionality remains intact.
