Impact for users
While it may be true that once devices exit their update support window, security is reduced and new features introduced in future software versions are not available to them, they will still be able to use their devices as is or find custom ROMs for extended use.
This essentially means the end of an era for these Xiaomi, Redmi, and POCO models. At this point, such users can move on to newer models that come with long-term update guarantees, such as the Xiaomi 17 series or the Xiaomi 15T series.
